St. George

We visited several places while we were in St. George. The first was Brigham Young's winter home. We took a tour of the place and got to see how Brigham lived during the final winters of his life.
Then we went to the Jacob Hamblin house. Jacob Hamblin was on of the early settlers of the St. George area. He was known to all by the red kerchief he wore around his neck. He was a skilled negotiator with indians and was held in high respect by all who knew him for his fairness in his dealings. The sloped second floor porch was used to dry fruit, vegetables and meat on.
Jacob and I also got to go to the temple while we were there. It was so beautiful. I love how the St. George temple is all white. Emma had fun playing with grandma while we were there.
We drove a little ways out of town to see Gunlock Lake. It was such a pretty drive. I love looking at all the red rock. This would have been a really fun place to go camping.
We got to hang out with Jacob's nieces Danielle, Cherish and Destiny. They were lots of fun and they loved playing with Emma.
Now if only it weren't a million degrees in St. George, it would have been perfect!

I'm impressed that Emma is so proficient with a camera that she could take a picture of Mommy and Daddy at the lake! ha ha, fun trip.
