The last hurrah of summer.

So, the weekend before school started our little family decided to take one last adventure. We were able to get a good deal earlier this summer on these things called the salt lake city connect pass It gets you into 13 different places in salt lake for one fairly cheap price. Our deal (which is no longer availible) got us 3 day passes for 30 bucks each. We didn't have to buy one for Emma because she is little enough to be free everywhere. Jacob's lovely cousin Kaylin and her husband Matt were kind enough to let us stay at their house. They fed us and spoiled us and even watched Emma one night. They rock. So here is what we were able to do for 60 bucks :)

We went to the Hogle Zoo and checked out all the animals.

Then we went to This is the Place. It was Jacob and my favorite out of the things we did.

Then that night Jacob and I went to Applebee's with a gift card we have had since Christmas while Kaylin and Matt watched Emma and put her to bed (they are great). When we got back to the cousins house, we watched the first half of the last Harry Potter together. We went to bed VERY late.

The next day we went to Tracy Aviary and checked out some birds.





Tracy Aviary is in Liberty Park in Salt Lake, and it has all kinds of fun things. We decided to check out this neat fountain play area. It was kind of a model of the different canyons with rivers coming into the salt lake valley. Emma really liked playing in the water. And so did we because it was HOT.

Then we had lunch at The Lion House. It was very tasty, and included in our passes.

Then we went to Clark Planetarium and watched a 3D movie about dinosaurs which Emma ever so kindly slept through in her daddy's arms :)

Then we played at the Discovery Gateway (it's a childrens museum). Emma LOVED that. There were all kinds of fun things to do.

Then we saw another movie at the Clark Planetarium, but this time it was in the Hansen Dome Theater, which is also a super cool experience. It was called "Violent Universe" and talked about stars and black holes and such. Emma was a very good girl and let us hold her the whole time and was quiet.

Then That night we played Phase 10 with Kaylin and Matt and Krista (another cousin). I WON!!! It was very fun.

Then on Saturday, our last day, we went to Thanksgiving point. We got to check out their Childrens' Garden. It was pretty fun. Emma loved it, it was perfect for her. We were going to check out their really huge expansive gardens too, but they were having a car show in them that day, so we didn't.

Then we got to check out The Museum of Ancient Life at Thanksgiving Point as well. We got to play with some neat science experiments. And we learned all about Dinosaurs. Emma was scared of all the bones and everything at first. But by the time we left, she was really loving those dinos :)

Then we enjoyed some lunch at Chuck-a-rama with Kaylin, Matt, and Krista (thanks again guys). And we got some See's Chocolates (they are my very favorite).

That night we went with Kaylin and Matt and Krista to stake carnival they were having. Emma really liked the snowcone, and popcorn, and 2 icecream cones she got to have :)

On Sunday we stopped to visit our friends Krstianne and Tony and their little boy Max in Syracuse. It was fun to see them since we hadn't for a long time. Emma really liked playing with Max. And I really liked seeing all the cute things Kristianne has done with her house.

Then we came home. It was lots of fun. But we were VERY tired. The temperature was like 100 the whole time we were doing our fun things. And we were exhausted. We were glad we went. It was fun to do something as our little family.
